A Smyth thread book-sewing machine had reached end-of-life electronics with no spares available. We reverse-engineered the machine sequence, replaced the original boards with a modern PLC and colour HMI, added safety interlocks and a multi-language operator interface, and recommissioned it for reliable daily production.
